eyesthatknowwhy: K, GLEN may start to wonder who this "Gord" is that you are referring to...
Too funny...as long as I don't start calling him by another man's name - can you imagine? No worries, know your mind is on a million plus things.

Got Glen's attention didn't it? I call all the kids, (male and female), George, and it causes some interesting responses. One of the kids started to call me Gord ... that is the reason I used the name "Gord". :-)

GLEN QUICK DYE YOUR HAIR BLACK OR SOMETHING DARK!!!!! grin

eyesthatknowwhy: The same to you and yours K!!! My Scotch background and family puts far more importance in celebrating the New Year than in Christmas!! It is vital that the first visitor through your doorway in the New Year has dark hair.

I remember the dark haired person must be the first one through your door.

New Years was always a more important celebration... unfortunately all the commercialization of Christmas has taken over trying to make New Yrs less important.

Cheers kiddo..... best of wishes to you and yours.wine

cook some finger foods, watch a movie with my sons, dog and Cat. Fiancee is out on the road and won't be back till Friday... if the roads hold out.

My usual thing for New Years eve, is to light a candle, have a glass of wine, and think about what happened the previous year, think of loved ones, passed away and still here, and think of somethings I should improve on. (No I do not make New Year resolutions.)

I like quiet New Years Eves.

In response to: One of our own here, KDH (Kim) is currently and unexpectedly faced with an extreme health crisis in her immediate family. Kim's family is very close. I am not going into details, out of respect, but Kim's very active and loving Mom has been slammed with something very serious. I am asking each and every one of you to send your best positive thoughts, your prayers, what ever it is you can do to Kim's Mother, her Father and all of the family and friend who are going to be walking and fighting this battle with Mrs. H. This too is a challenge that as a new couple Kim and Brian will be meeting - let's pray for them to find and keep the courage and fortitude to get through this strong and together.
You are in our thoughts Kim and prayers - everyday - to your Mom and Dad - to you all. Look after yourself, you are no good to anyone if you do not. And remember the Serenity Prayer - I pray you will have the serenity, wisdom and courage that will help get you through this.

Thank you.

My mother is a good candidate for the cancer surgery and we did everything we could to make sure she had as great a Christmas as she could handle. For once she let me make the meal. Brian has been the rock for me to lean on, while everyone was leaning on me.

Hopefully my aunt from Ireland will get here to help out and take some of work/house/children/cooking/cleaning load off my hands.

Boxing Day my parents will be married 53 yrs. Can anyone imagine being married for that long? My mother is a great role model on how to make a marriage work.

Thanks for the prayers and positive wishes.

Kim

Yes it's true. Especially if one of both of the people have children.

My fiancee and I spend time with both our families, and because our parents are older and need us to help them, some of the time my fiancee and I spend together is when we are with his or my parents.

My mother is battling a serious illness at the moment, and my fiancee and I have been over there a lot.

My sons live with me, so he does have to interact with them.

I am not sure if it's true for younger people with no kids and parents that are not seniors, and/or dealing with illness's.

In my case, both of us, I feel were dating each others families as well.

Why is a Christmas tree better than a man?

It's always erect,
Stays up for 12 days and nights,
Has cute balls,
And even looks good with the lights on!

(Sorry it's just a joke.... but I'm sure some females will like it. ) wine
